Insignia adds Indian subsidiary

NEW YORK — Insignia Financial Group Inc. has purchased the Indian operations of Brooke International, a commercial real estate services company based in Hong Kong. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. In December 2000, Insignia acquired the Brooke International operations in Hong Kong, China and Thailand, which are now operating as Insignia Brooke.

The Indian operations of Brooke International employ 43 people, and key clients include Proctor & Gamble, Philips, the Tata Group of Cos. and Standard Chartered/Grindlays Bank.

Insignia also has promoted Simon Robinson, former director of International Business at Insignia, to CEO of Insignia Brooke. Robinson will relocate to Hong Kong.
