Large Mixed-Use Development Underway In Vegas

Construction is underway on a 117-acre, $750 million retail and entertainment center in the heart of Las Vegas. The Town Square project will be developed at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Sunset Road. Last week, general contractor Marnell Corrao began construction on the first three of the projects 19 buildings.

The Las Vegas Review Journal also reports that the so-called “super-regional lifestyle center” project will include 150 retail shops, 12 restaurants, an outdoor concert stage and 200,000 sq. ft. of Class-A office space. Las Vegas-based development firm Centra Properties assembled the parcel.

Given the heavy traffic that regularly clogs Las Vegas Boulevard, the developers will build a $3 million “flyover” ramp in front of the center. Motorists traveling north on the boulevard can then take the raised highway directly into Town Square, where it feeds into a border highway that will loop along the edge of the development.
