Lower Manhattan Tower Snags Second Tenant

Ground Zero office tower 7 World Trade Center has signed its second office tenant. On Wednesday, financial services firm Ameriprise Financial committed to a 10-year lease for 20,000 sq. ft. of space within the lower Manhattan office tower. In mid-December, the New York Academy of Sciences signed a 40,000 sq. ft. lease at 7 World Trade Center. That deal represented the first signed lease at the 1.8 million sq. ft. property.

“We are pleased to announce another lease at 7 World Trade Center,” says Josef Mittleman, chief operating officer at Silverstein Properties, which developed the building. “I want to thank the brokers and attorneys who helped bring about this transaction.”

Minneapolis-based Ameriprise currently occupies space in lower Manhattan, but plans to consolidate its employees at 7 World Trade Center by this summer. The building will officially open in March.
