One of the nation’s largest fast food operators is using site selection software to pinpoint new restaurant locations.

On May 7, CKE Restaurants Inc. announced plans to use geoVue’s location optimization software as the restaurant company launches a major expansion. CKE operates popular chains like Hardees and Carl’s Jr., among other brands. “We were impressed both with geoVue’s highly experienced analysts and its superior software,” says Rich Buxton, executive vice president of real estate development, CKE. “geoVue will help us prioritize new markets, determine how to lay out franchise territories in each of them, and prioritize our remodeling program for existing stores.” The firm helps retailers determine which markets to enter based on myriad demographic and econometric factors. The Woburn, Mass.-based company also advises clients on how to localize marketing and merchandizing efforts. The company likes to boast that its clients “don’t leave square footage on the table.” Clients of geoVue include Dunkin’ Brands, Meineke, REI and The Limited.
