Austin readies itself for Class-A office tower

Atlanta-based Cousins Properties Inc. has begun construction of Congress at Fourth, a 33-story, Class-A office tower in Austin’s Central Business District (CBD). Completion of the 525,000 sq. ft. building, located at the intersection of Fourth Street and Congress Avenue, is slated for November 2003. The project will include an urban plaza, restaurant and retail space, and a 1,500-space parking garage.

Leases signed before the start of construction include Jenken & Gilcrist for 45,552 sq. ft.; Winstead, Sechrest & Minick for 37,000 sq. ft.; and Constructors and Associates for 8,000 sq. ft.
