Chatham Lodging Trust (NYSE: CLDT) has acquired six Homewood Suites by Hilton hotels from RLJ Development for $73.5 million, or $90,406 per suite. The hotels are the first properties acquired by Chatham since it completed an initial public offering on April 21. The hotels will continue to be managed by Hilton Worldwide. Chatham is a self-advised real estate investment trust that invests in upscale extended-stay and select-service hotels.

Healthcare Trust of America, based in Arizona, has acquired a two-building medical office campus from Atlanta-based Ackerman Medical for $19.5 million, or $243 per sq. ft. Camp Creek Medical Center I and II consists of 80,500 sq. ft. of space, and is anchored by Tenet Healthcare Corp. Both buildings are more than 95% occupied. Ackerman Medical, a division of Ackerman & Co., has been developing the center since 2005.

Rock Creek Property Group has closed its first opportunity investment fund to acquire and provide investment capital primarily for retail, office, multifamily and industrial properties in the metro Washington, D.C. region, Richmond, Va. and Baltimore, Md. The $21 million fund will target Class-B and Class-C property acquisitions or joint ventures in the $5 million to $20 million range. Rock Creek was formed in 2002.
