Developers create Web site to mark progress of 1.3 million sq. ft. shopping center

DURHAM, N.C. – Urban Retail Properties Co., Chicago, which is developing the 1.3 million sq. ft. The Streets at Southpoint, has launched the first phase of their Web site. The site, www.thestreetsatsouthpoint.com, was developed by Durham, N.C.-based Mind Bender Studios. Phase One of the site will show projected drawings and the progress of the retail and entertainment center before it opens. The development will include more than 140 shops and restaurants, a cinema, five department stores and a children’s play area when it opens on March 8, 2002. Phase Two of the Web site, which will be available in January 2002, will be a consumer-oriented merchandise database, featuring Web cameras so customers can preview the facility, and a calendar of the center’s current events.
