The Tower Group, a Miami-based general contractor, has begun construction on an $8.5 million, 365,000 sq. ft. distribution facility for Eagle Global Logistics. Completion of the facility, which Eagle Global also will use as its South American headquarters, is slated for November 2002.
A supply chain management company, Eagle Global currently has three facilities in operation in South Florida. Upon completion of the new center, it will close a 156,000 sq. ft. warehouse and a 120,000 sq. ft. distribution facility. A 120,000 sq. ft. air freight and logistics building in the Miami International Commerce Center will remain open.
