Red Mortgage Capital revives El Cortez Apartments

SAN DIEGO — Red Mortgage Capital Inc., a division of Columbus, Ohio-based Red Capital Group, has provided $14.8 million in Fannie Mae financing for the 85-unit, 15-story El Cortez Apartments.

The building housing the apartments was built in 1927 as a hotel, and has undergone two years of renovations to restore its Spanish Renaissance architecture. The complex houses several varieties of apartments, including studio, loft, and one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. El Cortez also features a pool, spa, sundeck, fitness facilities, underground parking and a ballroom.
