Silverstein vows to rebuild WTC

NEW YORK—Larry Silverstein, the New York developer who purchased a $3.2 billion, 99-year lease of the World Trade Center in July, along with his partner Westfield America, vows that the complex will be rebuilt, according to an article in the Wall Street Journal.

The article said that plans for rebuilding would not be developed until New York residents have time to deal with the tragedy. He also said that a memorial should be included as part of the site. The victims may include four of his employees, who are still missing.

Silverstein said in the article that he felt a moral obligation to rebuild. "The city is not dead and can’t be allowed to die," he said. "We owe it to our children and to our grandchildren."
