Slough Estates lands four-building R&D center in California

Slough Estates USA has purchased Torrey Pines Science Center, a four-building, 294,844 sq. ft. R&D center in La Jolla, Calif., for $70.8 million. Equitable Life Insurance Society of America was the seller. Slough Estates plans to hold the property as an investment.

John Hucko and Jed Stirnkorb of San Diego-based Burnham Real Estate Services * ONCOR International represented Slough Estates in the transaction, and Martin Morgenstern of New York-based Cushman & Wakefield represented Equitable. Tenants at the center include PharMingen, Agouron Pharmaceuticals, Stratagene Cloning Systems and Fujitsu Customer Service.
