Two Law Firms Sign on at the Times Square Tower

Boston Properties has signed two new leases at its Times Square Tower in midtown Manhattan. The leases — both signed by law firms — will absorb a total of 131,807 sq. ft. in the building.

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP leased 85,468 sq. ft., while Pitney, Hardin, Kipp & Szuch LLP leased 46,339 sq. ft. in the tower. The two leases bring the Times Square Tower’s occupancy rate to only 35%. The property is scheduled to open in less than a month.

In 2002, the tower’s anchor tenant, Andersen, backed out of its leasing commitment after the firm’s role in the Enron debacle dissolved the firm.
