In wake of attacks, N.J. complex readies for heavy tech operations

The Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, D.C., spurred tenant interest in security, data and back-up needs. Following this trend, New Mountain Development Corp. has completed a total systems upgrade at Mountain Technology Center in Clifton, N.J. With the renovation, the 211,000 sq. ft. building is able to accommodate security-conscious users whose business functions require heavy voice and data usage. Joseph Sarno, senior director of Cushman & Wakefield of New Jersey Inc., has been appointed the exclusive leasing agent for the property.

Located on six acres at 100 Delawanna Avenue near the New Jersey Turnpike, the center provides a clear line of site for microwave transmissions to Manhattan, as well as Jersey City and Newark. Verizon provides the building’s fiber optic system. The 7-story center also has heavy floor-load capacity, designated space for backup generators, fuel supply and air coolers, and a secure building and grounds.
