Texas Resort Property Sold

A 227-room hotel in the Texas Hill Country has sold for $34.5 million. On Thursday, the Radisson Hill Country Resort & Spa was sold to the Dow Hotel Co. and the Prudential Insurance Company of America. The seller was a division of Nuremberger Insurance Co.

The Radisson is the newest full-service hotel in the Texas Hill Country northwest of San Antonio. The property consists of 1,270 acres of land. It also serves as the official resort of SeaWorld San Antonio. Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels represented the seller on the deal.

San Antonio is one of the most active drive-to tourist destinations in North America. Last year, for example, roughly eight million tourists visited San Antonio. With an employee base of more than 75,000 people, the hospitality and tourism industry generates more than $2 billion in visitor spending to the city, reports Jones Lang LaSalle. This sector continues to be a strong economic generator for the city and remains a key element of future economic development efforts.

“San Antonio continues to be one of the most highly sought-after investment markets,” says Alan Tantleff, executive vice president at Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels.
