| By the 1990s, the original Garrison Forest Plaza had become tired and outdated. The project mission was to transform and upgrade the property into a thriving neighborhood destination. The scope of the renovation encompassed land acquisition, demolition, reconstruction and facade renovation. A critical design goal was raising the roof line to increase roadside visibility and regrading half of the site. |
The new facade celebrates the entries to its anchor tenant spaces with square, arched openings rising high above the main roof line. Contoured moldings trace around the entire faade, achieving an integration of classical and contemporary design. Copper canopies feature copper decorative light fixtures, custom cast stone medallions baring the project's tree logo motif, bright graphic banners, and three grand tree reliefs perched on axis with the main entry drive. The addition of the fountain and outdoor dining area provides a new focal point and gathering place for both shoppers and tenants.
Incandescent, decorative pole light fixtures are designed with festive banners. Under canopy walkway lighting has been upgraded and decorative sconce fixtures have been integrated. The profile of the faade is designed to incorporate a set back, continuous, signage surface to integrate the individually mounted, internally lit neon logos of each tenant. This approach dictates a clean, unified approach to tenant signage. The result is a totally new, vibrant and sophisticated retail center.
