Baum broker and newly minted Principal, Janika Brenner, represented Peek Kids in negotiations with its Bucktown landlord in an off-market deal. This is Brenner’s 16th luxury retailer lease transaction in the Bucktown/Wicker Park market. Those transactions include such notable retailers as Scoop NYC, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Nanette Lepore, American Apparel, Levi’s, BCBG, and Joe’s Jeans. Bucktown is now a thriving retail market with a high concentration of affluent families. “As a family-focused children’s clothing concept, Peek Kids will be a huge success here,” said Brenner.
Peek Kids currently has locations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Texas, Washington and Utah and in December of 2010, the retailer announced a partnership with upscale retailer Nordstrom. Nordstrom is the exclusive retailer for Peek Kids merchandise outside of Peek’s stand-alone stores and online at www.peekkids.com.
