PRESS RELEASE: Construction Underway For New Golden State Foods 152,670 S.F. Build-to-Suit Facility in McCook, Illinois

Rosemont, IL – Jeffrey A. Raday, P.E., President of McShane Construction Company, is pleased to announce that construction is underway for the new 152,670 square foot build-to-suit Regional Headquarters and Logistics Center for Golden State Foods.  The new facility is being constructed on a 15-acre parcel at 8901 W. 47th Street in McCook, Illinois, a well-positioned transportation corridor within the near west suburbs of Chicago.  Golden State Foods will relocate from its current operations in Lemont and Bolingbrook, Illinois into this modern, expanded space following completion of the facility in May 2014.

The contemporary facility will feature a two-story, 17,550 square foot office component, while 135,120 square feet will be devoted to warehouse/distribution space with a cross-dock configuration and 40’ clear height.  The construction will incorporate 52 truck docks, 54,000 square feet of dry storage space and a separate on-site maintenance building.  The new Golden State Foods freezer/cooler area will feature a cascade refrigeration system that maintains 14,040 square feet of cooler storage at 34° F, 23,400 square feet of freezer storage at 10° F and 28,080 square feet of cooler dock staging at 34° F.  The facility is being constructed to meet LEED-Gold Certification standards.

Trevor Ragsdale, SIOR, Managing Director, Head of Industrial Brokerage – Chicago and Kris Bjorson, International Director, of Jones Lang LaSalle represented Golden State Foods in the site acquisition and build-to-suit transaction.  Rick Steger, Senior Vice President, and Bradley A. Wood, Vice President of the Project & Development Services Group also of Jones Lang LaSalle are providing construction management services for the facility.  Ware Malcomb Architects is serving as project architect for this sizable build-to-suit project.
