Cresa Washington DC has executed a 10-year lease at 1800 M St. NW in the heart of the Central Business District. The firm will occupy its new space on September 1.
Currently, Cresa Washington DC is subleasing space at 505 9th St. NW from a law firm. Executives with the commercial real estate firm wanted to sign a prime lease in space more appropriately configured to meet its needs.
After scouting roughly a dozen downtown sites, Cresa Washington DC decided on 1800 M St. NW for several key reasons. For one, the property is newly renovated, and it features a fitness center as well as rooftop deck. The building is in a vibrant part of the Central Business District – Metro accessible and near a multitude of restaurants, retailers and other amenities.
Inside the firm’s new office, “the space is quite efficient. Everyone will have natural light, and it’s an extremely collaborative environment. Video-conferencing capabilities are state of the art,” says Steve Schaumberg, a managing principal with Cresa Washington DC who negotiated the new lease on behalf of the firm. “We’re very excited about our new location in the city.”
Presently, Cresa Washington DC has three project managers and 13 brokers at 505 9th St. NW. The firm is actively hiring, and the new office will provide it with the necessary room to bring on more talented professionals, Schaumberg says.
