PRESS RELEASE: Newmark Grubb Knight Frank Opens Second Philadelphia Office at 2.0 University Place in University City

PhiladelphiaNewmark Grubb Knight Frank (NGKF) affirms its commitment to better serve clients in the Science Center area with the establishment of an office in University City, its second location in Philadelphia’s central business district and fifth regional location. The new office is at 2.0 University Place, a five-story, 97,000-square-foot, LEED Platinum office building at 30 N. 41st Street.

“We have made a significant commitment to the University City market,” said Bob Clements, NGKF executive vice president and regional managing director. “The new office will offer the full range of NGKF’s services, provided by local experts with extensive experience. We are excited to further our own goals for embracing environmentally responsible practices in this exemplary sustainable property.”

“University Place Associates is unique in that it develops exclusively to LEED Platinum standards,” said NGKF Executive Managing Director Craig Scheuerle. Together with Senior Managing Director Jack Soloff and Director Matt Guerrieri, Mr. Scheuerle oversees leasing at 2.0 University Place on behalf of the developer, University Place Associates LLC, led by Managing Partner Scott Mazo.

The fifth floor, approximately 22,000 square feet, remains available for lease at 2.0 University Place, which is dual-certified for meeting LEED Platinum standards having earned both LEED Core and Shell, New Construction (CS, NC) and Commercial Interior (CI) designations. 2.0 University Place will be the first multi-tenanted, double platinum commercial office building in United States.

In late August, Mr. Mazo announced plans to move forward with 3.0 University Place—a six-story, 180,000-square-foot property at 41st and Market streets—also marketed exclusively by the NGKF team. The team is seeking an anchor tenant or tenants for 3.0 University Place, which also has KOZ (Keystone Opportunity Zone) designation for 10 years from occupancy.

“We’re responding to what Corporate America and government institutions are looking for,” Mr. Soloff said. “Many tenants seek LEED-certified buildings for workplace efficiency along with a healthy and socially responsible environment.”

NGKF's Downtown Philadelphia office is at 1735 Market Street.
