PRESS RELEASE: Orchard City Kitchen Joins The Pruneyard Shopping Center in Campbell, Calif.

Campbell, CA – Equity Office has announced the signing of a lease with Orchard City Kitchen, a new restaurant run by well-known chef Jeffrey Stout, at The Pruneyard Shopping Center in Campbell, Calif.

Orchard City Kitchen will take over 6,200 square feet occupied by a Hobee’s California Restaurant which will be vacated at the end of the year.  Orchard City Kitchen is a new concept devised by Chef Stout and emphasizes high quality, shareable plates in a casual dining environment.  The plan is for the restaurant to open by early summer 2014.

The 252,000 square foot Pruneyard has an occupancy in the high 90 percent range and features over 17 eateries, in addition to retailers such as Marshalls and Trader Joe’s, as well as a hotel and three office towers.  The office towers are currently 95 percent leased and earlier this year the 172-room hotel was reflagged as a Doubletree by Hilton.

In addition to the opening of Orchard City Kitchen next year, the center will see the opening of a Little Chef wine bar/restaurant.  Sports Basement opened its fifth Bay Area store at The Pruneyard this spring and Equity Office renewed the lease of locally-operated theater chain Camera Cinemas.  The largest space currently available for lease in the retail center is 4,000 s.f.

The shopping center is located just off Highways 880 and 280 and is adjacent to downtown Campbell and the Los Gatos Creek Trail, a 10-mile long tree-lined bike and walking trail running from Lexington Reservoir to Meridian Avenue in San Jose.

James Chung of Terranomics represented Orchard City Kitchen in the lease negotiations.  Equity Office was represented by Dixie Divine and Doug Ferrari of Prime Commercial.
