PRESS RELEASE: Sterling Properties Announces Start of Construction at Transit-Oriented Rental Community in Bordentown, N.J.

BORDENTOWN, NJ - Sterling Properties, a leading developer of premier residential communities, today announced that construction has begun on Rivergate, a transit-oriented community of 159 rental residences situated along the Delaware River waterfront in Bordentown, N.J.

Part of a larger transit village known as the Waterfront Community Development, Rivergate will benefit from a convenient on-site River Line light rail station that will provide quick access to Trenton with connections to New York City and Philadelphia.

A four-building complex, Rivergate will feature an impressive array of features and amenities including elevator access, private parking, an outdoor resort-style swimming pool and an exclusive community clubhouse with a state-of-the-art fitness studio.

“Rivergate will embrace the rich history of Bordentown while also paying mind to a traditional lifestyle and the contemporary conveniences that today’s renters seek,” stated Wayne Zuckerman, co-principal of Sterling Properties. “Designed to cater to a diverse cross-section of renters, the community will meet Burlington County’s high demand for luxury apartments."

The Waterfront Community Development will see a 98-acre former shipyard site along Route 130 transformed into a transit village anchored by the new River Line Train station and a mix of more than 600 apartments, townhouses and affordable housing units.

The plan also calls for the creation of shops and restaurants, multiple recreations areas, a swimming pool, a waterfront boardwalk, and walking and biking trails. The development will feature $11 million in highway improvements to the nearby intersection of Route 130 and Burlington-Bordentown Road.

When completed, the development is projected to be home to at least 75 employees and 648 households.

“Rivergate is just the first phase of what will be a transformative development for the City of Bordentown,” stated Steven Katz, co-principal of Sterling Properties. “We’re excited to be a part of a project that will have a significant impact on the city now and for generations to come.”

In addition to being easily accessible public transportation, Rivergate will be surrounded by a major highway network that puts residents within a 40-minute drive to Center City Philadelphia and an 80-minute drive to Midtown Manhattan.

Bordentown boasts a lively downtown of boutiques, restaurants, cafes and galleries. Other retail options are located on Route 130, including three regional malls located within a 20-minute drive of Rivergate.
