PRESS RELEASE: Westchester One Office Tower Attracts Three New Leases Totaling 123,570-Sf; Total Represents 45% of Class A Transactions Completed in White Plains CBD In 2013

NEW YORK CITY – Cushman & Wakefield announced today that it represented 44 South Broadway Property LLC, an affiliate of Beacon Capital Partners, LLC, owner of Westchester One, a 21-story office tower located in downtown White Plains, in three new leases totaling 123,570 square feet. The leasing activity in the building this year represents 45% of the total class-A transactions completed in the White Plains Central Business District in 2013.

Three tenants – Jackson Lewis LLP, the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, and the New York State Department of Law – signed long-term lease transactions and are the newest additions to the office building. Beacon will be providing them with high-end turnkey space, showcasing its commitment to providing tenants with the best quality space in the neighborhood.
Through the third quarter of 2013, the total leasing activity at Westchester One accounts for 11.7% of the total activity in the Westchester class-A market. Over the last five years, 661,878 square feet of lease transactions have been completed in the building, which is the most of any asset in Westchester County during that period.

Westchester One, which totals 906,000 square feet and represents the largest class-A asset in Westchester County, is represented by a Cushman & Wakefield team led by Josh Kuriloff and Ashlea Aaron, from the firm’s New York World Headquarters office, Stephen Baker from the firm’s Stamford, Conn. office, and Matthew Lisk and Michael McCarthy from the firm’s Westchester office.

Recent transactions:

  • Jackson Lewis LLP leased 44,713 square feet on the entire 14th floor. John R. McCarthy of McCarthy Associates represented the tenant.
  • New York State Department of Taxation and Finance leased 40,331 square feet on part of the sixth floor. Michael Burgio and Gerry Lees of Cushman & Wakefield represented the tenant.
  • New York State Department of Law leased 38,526 square feet on part of the fifth floor and part of the Lower Level 2. Michael Burgio and Gerry Lees of Cushman & Wakefield represented the tenant.
