The Banks Development Swings for the Fences in Cincinnati

Atlanta developer Carter on March 30 hosted the inaugural Meet Up Tweet Up at The Banks, its mixed-use development in Cincinnati.

Scores of people showed up March 30 at the Holy Grail's new location at The Banks to see the development for themselves, and of course, to tweet about it. The first phase of The Banks development is across the street from Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, home to the Cincinnati Reds.

Attendees included Carter Chairman and CEO Bob Peterson, USAA Real Estate Chairman and CEO Pat Duncan, Carter Vice Chairman Jim Shelton, Brasfield & Gorrie executive Roddy McCrory and Chris Kemper of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber.

The Banks is an 18-acre, mixed-use development on the riverfront in downtown Cincinnati between Great American Ballpark and Paul Brown Stadium. The project will comprise 300 multifamily apartments, 300,000 sq. ft. of office, a 200-key boutique hotel and a new 45-acre park. The first apartment residents are scheduled to move in April 18.

The Meet Up Tweet Up started with three tours of the Banks that included a look at model unit in Current at The Banks, its first apartment community. Trent Germano, who has spearheaded Carter's role since its initial involvement four years ago, and Laura Griffin, a key member of Carter’s development team, led the tours.

The event helped stir up interest in The Banks and Current @ The Banks. More than 30 people started following The Banks Twitter account the night of the event, and @TheBanksCincy now has topped 400 followers.

A crew from Brasfield & Gorrie General Contractors works to complete the first phase of The Banks, which includes apartments, retail and restaurants.
