As the economy continues its recovery, albeit lackluster, the commercial real estate market is definitely in play. As the volume and velocity ofsales increases, interest in the sector grows. And some of this interest comes from the high-net-worth community.
A perfect example is the creation of the FORE Partnership, an “club” for billionaires working through Family Offices. Today, it turns out that these individuals are some of the most significant players in Europe's commercial property market.
According to a announcement, Family Office Real Estate Partnership(FORE) is “a direct co-investing platform for UK and European real estate, designed and operated exclusively for family offices and private investors. Its unique structure provides a truly aligned real estate investment solution for private capital.”
Although commercial real estate has historically been part of high-net-worth asset allocation, the formation of CORE in Europe shows that it's now becoming a more formalized investment in the wealth management community. There's the potential for a similar approach in the U.S. as well. The upcoming Strategic Real Estate Investment Conference on June 7 in New York City will be a place where this exact type of information will be explored.
