NEW YORK—Timberland has signed a 10-year, 9,500-sq.-ft. lease at 100-104 Fifth Ave. where it will occupy the seventh floor. Although the terms of the lease were undisclosed, the asking rent for the space was $60 per-sq.-ft. Grant Greenspan and Michael Kaufman of the Kaufman Organization represented ownership, while Don Preate and Jamie Katcher of Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. represented the tenant.

The space will be used as Timberland’s New York City showroom.

“The space is ideal for Timberland’s showroom because it offers a spacious and open floor plan for buyers to view the company’s entire collection in one cohesive area,” said Greenspan. “The showroom will feature environmentally minded elements such as recycled and reclaimed materials, which correspond with Timberland’s commitment to green initiatives.”

Built in 1905, 100-104 Fifth Ave. is a 20-story, 270,000-sq.-ft. building in Union Square. The Kaufman Organization and Invesco recently repositioned the building through a $9 million capital improvement campaign, adding updates to the lobby, elevators and installing telecommunication amenities. Other tenants at the property include Apple, Yelp and Interactive Partners, among others.
