The Atlanta office of Valley Crest, a Calabasas, Calif.-based landscape and site development company, has been awarded a $3 million landscape and irrigation contract by Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group Inc. for the Mall of Georgia at MillZ Creek. The 2.5 million sq. ft. mall will be surrounded by more than 2,800 trees, seasonal color beds filled with more than 40,000 shrubs, and 11 acres of hybrid Bermuda sod, as well as a computer-controlled irrigation system. The mall is scheduled to open in fall 1999.
The PRISM Co., Durham, N.C., has been selected by Boston-based C.F.S. Development Co. to lead a cooperative leasing program for Casino Factory Shoppes in Tunica, Miss. The 350,000 sq. ft. outlet center is scheduled to open summer 1999. According to the Tunica Convention and Visitors Bureau, millions of people visit the gambling resort city each year, with most hailing from Arkansas, Alabama, Tennessee, Missouri, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois and Texas.
Houston-based Weingarten Properties has named Greenwich, Conn.-based Charter Realty & Development Corp. exclusive leasing agent for its newly acquired Airport Mall Shopping Center in Bangor, Maine. The 230,000 sq. ft. center is anchored by Hannaford Super Shop, Staples, Fashion Bug and Ames.
Heritage Sportswear LLC has acquired Signal Apparel Co. Inc.'s Heritage Sportswear Division. Both companies are based in Marion, S.C. Heritage Sportswear LLC is a new company formed by Leslie W. Levy and Fredric Levy, sons of the original company's founder. Both held upper-management positions within Heritage SportswearDivision. The company manufactures better knit sportswear, including the Joan Vass USA line of ladies designer sportswear.
Trammell Crow Faison Regional Mall Services, a subsidiary of Dallas-based Trammell Crow Co., has been awarded the property management assignment at Honey Creek Mall in Terre Haute, Ind., by Charlotte, N.C.-based Faison Enterprises. The single-level, 675,000 sq. ft. mall is anchored by L.S. Ayres, Elder-Beerman, JCPenney and Sears.
