KANSAS CITY, MO.—On November 9, AMC Theatres will open its theater in Penn Square Mall in Oklahoma City, Okla. with subsequent plans to team with Simon Property Group to renovate and upgrade the property.

When finished, the theater will include stadium-style seating with a power recliner and footrest for each seat. An expanded concession menu is planned with healthy options.

"We're thrilled AMC is bringing its latest technology to Oklahoma City movie fans and their state-of-the-art theaters will enhance our entertainment offerings at Penn Square,” said Greg Zimmerman, senior vice president at Simon Property Group, in a statement.

Construction is slated to begin in December and is expected to be completed by May of 2013. The theater will remain open during renovations.
