TROY, MI—MagnaInc. has agreed to lease 117,319 sq. ft. Tower Dr. here, a building in the North Troy Corporate Park that was empty one year ago, for a relocation of its headquarters.
The automotive supplier is currently in about 80,000 sq. ft. on Wilshire Drive in the city. “Our U.S. headquarters has been in the Troy area for more than 15 years now, which is an ideal location as it centrally locates us near most of our customers,” said Jim Tobin, chief marketing officer, in a statement. “It was important to us to stay in this area and find a suitable office location that could accommodate an increased staff.”
When Friedman began managing the 240,000-sq.-ft.-Tower Drive building in May 2012, it was empty. After extensive rebranding, renovations, and leasing initiatives, the building will now be 60 percent occupied. The property recently underwent extensive renovations, organized and executed by Friedman’sand Design division. The design of the lobby included sleek tile flooring with exotic granite accents, rich wood panels imported from around the world, impressive water features, and architectural lighting.
