GoldMax USA plans to open 100 new stores in the U.S. in 2012, including five to 10 stores in Minnesota and 30 stores in themetro area.
The chain already opened its first two stores in Texas, at 3601 S. Cooper St. in Arlington and at 2193 E. Buckingham Rd. in Richardson, as well as its first store in Minnesota in Roseville. Later in the year, it plans to open a location at the Mall of America in Bloomington.
“People of all ages and economic backgrounds are rummaging through their jewelry boxes, closets and drawers, attics or basements and garages looking for unwanted items to sell,” said GoldMax Co-founder Jordan Sadoff in a statement. “Our customers remark how much fun they have searching for jewelry, precious metals and various collectibles that they can bring in for a quote.”
The chain already operates more than 200 stores.
Stiles beganon a mixed-use development in Plantation, Fla. that will include One Plantation, a luxury apartment community developed through a joint venture with Prudential Real Estate Investors, and the adjacent University Shoppes retail center, which Stiles owns and is redeveloping.
One Plantation will feature two 12-story towers containing 321 apartment units. It will be LEED-certified. University Shoppes will undergo a 65,000-sq.-ft. renovation and reconfiguration that will involve creating easier access and improved traffic flow for shoppers.
Stiles expects to complete the project in the third quarter of 2013.
Brody Co. Inc. signed leases with two new retailers at 11 Galleria in Greenville, N.C. Dick’s Sporting Goods signed a lease for a 50,000-sq.-ft. store at the property. Bonefish Grill signed a lease for a 4,800-sq.-ft. store. Both chains will open their new locations in the fall/winter 2012.
Madison Capital appointed Winick Realty Group LLC as the exclusive leasing agent for 13,400 sq. ft. of retail space at 100 Broadway in New York City. The property includes 4,400 sq. ft. on the ground level and 9,000 sq. ft. on the lower level. Previously, Borders used to occupy the space. Jeff Winick and Darrell Rubens will handle this assignment on behalf of Winick Realty.
The Eretz Group appointed Cushman & Wakefield as the exclusive leasing agent for 9,000 sq. ft. of retail space at 155 Fifth Ave. in New York City. The property contains 4,500 sq. ft. of retail on the ground floor and 4,500 sq. ft. on the lower level. Joanne Podell, Matthew Seigel and Brandon Singer, in conjunction with Melissa Rose, an in-house representative for The Eretz Group, will handle this assignment.
Jones Lang LaSalle appointed Ryan Rauch as vice president of marketing for the firm’s Southwest region. In his new position, he will lead the development and implementation of strategic marketing/business development programs to drive Jones Lang LaSalle’s business in Southern, Arizona and Nevada. Previously Rauch operated his own marketing consultancy firm where he worked with executives from small and mid-sized companies to define objectives and develop strategic marketing plans and budgets.
Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services appointed Mark J. Ruble as senior director of the firm’s national retail group in Phoenix. Ruble has been with Marcus & Millichap since December 2004.
GreenbergFarrow hired Ali Yadegari as director of retail design. In his new position, Yadegari will be based in the firm’s Columbus, Ohio office and will be responsible for developing prototypes for chain stores and restaurants, providing design services for existing clients and business development. He has more than 25 years of experience. Prior to joining GreenbergFarrow, he served as vice president of design and development with Bob Evans Farms Inc.
General Growth Properties appointed Brooke Whitebread as marketing manager for Northridge Fashion Center, a 1.5-million-sq.-ft. retail property in Northridge, Calif. In her new position, Whitebread will oversee coordination and implementation of strategic advertising, public relations, budgeting, retailer relations and special events. She has 14 years of experience in marketing. Previously, she worked in the marketing department for Fashion Place in Salt Lake City.
SRS Real Estate Partners hired MJ Giovannucci as marketing coordinator in its Newport Beach, Calif. office. In her new position, Giovannucci will be responsible for executing marketing strategies for the office, including broker transaction support, identity building and lead generation initiatives. Previously, she worked as a communications coordinator at Schaeffer Industries.
