Swire Properties and Bal Harbour Shops agreed to form an equity partnership to develop the retail component of Brickell CityCentre, a $1.05 billion, 1.9-million-sq.-ft. mixed-use project in Miami. Brickell City Centre is scheduled to include 500,000 sq. ft. of retail, in addition to condominiums, a hotel and office space. It is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2015.
Swire Properties will serve as the primary developer on the project, while Bal Harbour will contribute equity, brand recognition and its retail development expertise.

Books-A-Million signed a lease with Brixmor Property Group for a 28,000-sq.-ft. store at Arapahoe Crossings in Aurora, Colo. Paul Sheppard represented Brixmor in-house in the transaction;
Petco signed a lease for a 12,420-sq.-ft. store at Brixmor’s Five Points in Corpus Christi, Texas. Matt Reed, of New Quest Properties, represented Petco in the transaction. Greg Levine and Mike Watson served as in-house representatives for Brixmor;
Tuesday Morning signed a 10,000-sq.-ft. lease at Crossroads Centre in Fairview Heights, Ill. Jim Rosen, of Pace Properties, represented the tenant in the transaction. Heather Blacketer and David Gerstenhaber represented Brixmor.
Dick’s Sporting Goods signed three leases in the New York metro area. The leases include a 47,600-sq.-ft.at Jericho Turnpike in Commack, N.Y.; a 40,900-sq.-ft. deal at Old Country Road in Riverhead, N.Y. and a 94,000-sq.-ft. deal in West Nyack, N.Y.

Philabundance appointed CBX to design a prototype for Fare & Square, a not-for-profit grocery store in Chester, Pa. The store is scheduled to open this summer. As part of the assignment, CBX will choose a colors and materials palette for the property, signage and graphics, and will design perimeter departments and the store’s center core.
Glimcher Realty Trust selected FRCH Design Worldwide to help renovate River Valley Mall in Lancaster, Ohio. The firm applied new graphics and color upgrades to the mall entrances, raised ceilings in the food court to open up an existing skylight and introduced a lounge seating area.
Taubman Centers appointed Steve Berlow as the general manager for Great Lakes Crossing Outlets in Auburn Hills, Wendy Batiste-Johnson as general manager at The Mall At Partridge Creek in Clinton, Mich. and Seok Chung as marketing and sponsorship director at Great Lakes Crossing Outlets. Berlow has more than 30 years of property management experience. Previously, he served as general manager at the Mall at Partridge Creek. Batiste-Johnson has 10 years of experience in retail. For the past eight months, she has worked as an assistant general manager at Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi, Mich. Chung was previously marketing and sponsorship director at The Mall at Partridge Creek.
