NEW JERSEY—Jersey City’s Municipal Council and Planning Board has approved theof Gawthmey Siegel Kaufman and Associates Architects (GSKA) for a new residential, hotel and retail development at 70 and 90 Columbus. The 1.2 million-sq.-ft. project is being developed by Ironstate Development and Panepinto Properties. Groundbreaking is planned for the coming months.
The approved design features two 50-story towers, a series of terraced gardens and retail shops. Upon completion, thewill include approximately 1,000 rental residences, a 150-room hotel retail space and onsite parking.
“This project offers an exceptional opportunity to add not only to the skyline but to the urban fabric and street life of this vibrant area,” said Robert Siegel, one of the founders of GSKA, who led the design team. “We are delighted that approval process is complete so now we can move forward and allow the vision for this project to become reality.”
