BRONX, NY– Simone Healthcare Development, a division of Simone Development Companies focused on building medical facilities in partnership with health care providers in the New York metropolitan area, has appointed real estate industry veteran Guy Leibler as its President. Joseph Simone, President of Simone Development Companies, made the announcement.
In his new position, Leibler will lead business and property development at Simone Healthcare to interact with hospitals, medical provider systems and physician groups to develop medical office buildings and ambulatory centers. Simone Healthcare Development provides a full range of services to its clients, including Strategic Planning, Site Selection and Acquisition, Design/Construction/ Development, Financing/Ownership, and Medical Building Facilities Management.

Mr. Leibler began his career at Schulman Realty Group in 1978. He became president and chief executive officer in 1987 and continued in that position until departing in 1992. Leibler joined Sony Corporation in 1993, where he led the development of new business platforms for Sony operating groups.
Leibler was elected chairman of White Plains Hospital in 1997, where he had served as a director since 1988. He led a repositioning of the $350 million annual revenue hospital by developing a cancer treatment center, expanding the maternity program to include a neo-natal intensive care unit, creating an orthopedic institute, and laying the groundwork for a cardiac center. He served as chairman of the board for five years and continues to serve White Plains Hospital as a Chairman Emeritus.
Leibler was named president and chief operating officer of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in 2001, making design excellence and project management the firm’s priorities. He joined L&L Holding Company as vice chairman and chief operating officer in 2004. The Manhattan based real estate investment company focused on purchasing and repositioning office properties.
He graduated from American University with a degree in political science and international affairs and received a Master’s in Business Administration from the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University.

The Simone Healthcare Development model contemplates a long-term relationship with the healthcare provider that encompasses every aspect of locating, designing, building, and operating a new facility. The company is actively working with Montefiore Medical Center, Mount Sinai Hospital, and other major health care providers on new outpatient care centers throughout the New York metropolitan area. In partnership with Montefiore, Simone Healthcare Development Group is building a 280,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art multidisciplinary ambulatory care center within Simone’s 42-acre Hutchinson Metro Center office park in the Bronx, as well as a new outpatient facility in the Riverdale section of the borough. Simone Healthcare Development Group also recently acquired the Park Avenue Medical Arts Center on East 88th Street in Manhattan, which the company will renovate and update in accordance with the needs of medical tenants.
