Cypress Equities and The Carlyle Group will develop Market Street Place, a 250,000-sq.-ft. six-level retail center in San Francisco. The project will feature an exterior façade made of translucent glass, an open floor plan with ceiling heights of up to 17 feet on the ground floor, prominent retail street presence and streetscape improvements.
Gensler is serving as theteam behind Market Street Place. Cypress and Carlyle plan to open the center in 2015.
“Market Street Place is an important step forward in the renaissance and transformation of San Francisco’s most public thoroughfare,” said Chris Maguire, CEO of Cypress Equities, in a statement. “We are proud to be a part of the development transformation that is re-invigorating the Market Street corridor.”
New Retailers Come to Aurora Marketplace
Mid-America Asset Management Inc. negotiated two new leases at Aurora Marketplace in Aurora, Ill.
Floor & Décor signed a lease for a 56,638-sq.-ft. store. Music & Arts took a 2,975-sq.-ft. space. Mid-America’s Marget Graham represented the landlord in the transactions. Wendell Hollan and Mario Melone, of CBRE, represented Floor & Décor. Robert Melsher, of Metro Commercial Real Estate, represented Music & Arts.
Jones Lang LaSalle hired Robin Smith and Lance W. Taylor as senior vice presidents with its retail brokerage team in the Southwest. They will be responsible for providing retail leasing services. Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, Smith and Taylor ran Stream Realty Partners Dallas, a retail practice they co-founded. They both also worked at The Archon Group, a Goldman Sachs company. Smith and Taylor bring with them 2 million sq. ft. of retail assets they help lease.
The Mills, a Simon company, appointed Chelsie Petereit as director of marketing and business development at Gurnee Mills in Gurnee, Ill. Petereit has 15 years of experience in shopping center and corporate marketing. Prior to joining The Mills, she served as director of corporate marketing with the Davis Street Land Co.
GreenbergFarrow appointed Jennifer Mowen as a senior associate. Mowen has worked in the firm’s Chicago office for 12 years. She is responsible for helping restaurant chain clients with planning, architectural, site development and civil engineering services.
