Kmart to shutter 326 stores
Kmart announced today the specific 326 stores it will close as part of its Chapter 11 restructuring. The closings will hit 44 states, with California, Florida and Georgia being particularly hard hit. Orlando, Fla., Indianapolis and Arlington, Texas, are all losing three or more stores.
CEO James Adamson says the closings will allow the company to emerge from Chapter 11 by April 30. For detailed analysis of the impact on shopping center owners, stay tuned to nreionline.com.
