Top 25 Brokerages 2009

This ranking is based on responses to NREI’s Top Brokerage survey, which was conducted via e-mail in February and March 2009. Brokers were asked to provide the total dollar value of leasing transactions and investment sales globally in 2008. The totals were combined to determine the company’s ranking.  Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services, which ranked No. 15 in last year’s survey, chose not to participate this year. This ranking was updated April 14, 2009 to include CresaPartners, which ranks No. 15 in this year’s survey with $7 billion in investment sales and leasing transactions.

Correction (May 7): The global total for Jones Lang LaSalle should have been listed as $82.9 billion, which puts JLL at No. 2 on this year’s ranking. Originally, NREI reported JLL’s total as $39.2 billion, which was the total for domestic leasing and investment sales only. A complete corrected version of the rankings will be published in July as part of the Best of the Best compendium of surveys
