The Hampshire Companies, based in Morristown, N.J. has closed on the sale of a 10-property self-storage portfolio totaling more than 1 million sq. ft. of space. The assets sold are located in New Jersey and New York. HFF marketed the properties exclusively on behalf of the seller. The buyer, Extra Space Self Storage, purchased the portfolio clear of existing debt.

Sovran Self Storage Inc. has acquired two self-storage facilities in the Chicago metro region. A third has been acquired in Miami, Fla. The combined purchase price of all three properties was $36.1 million and was funded through advances on the company’s line of credit and operating cash flow.
