Fueling Generational Change Around the Globe

The U.S. Green Building Council is focusing its efforts on international strategies to advance the adoption of LEED and green building engagement. Roger Platt seeks to internationalize the LEED program outside of the United States through a LEED roundtable of 16 countries. Platt describes how 40 percent of LEED square footage is now certified outside the United States. The U.S GBC now certifies 1-million-square-feet of LEED property a day, with 500,000 square-feet through existing properties. Platt discusses how other countries can learn from the mistakes the United States made and encourage generational change needed to fuel adoption.
