Easy Being Green

The Pantry Inc., has become the first convenience store operator to attain Leadership in Energy and Environment Design certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. One of the company's Kangaroo stores, a 5,150-square-foot location in Gainesville, Fla., used only low-toxin materials during construction and the store features extensive day-lighting and low-voltage fixtures.
