Clothing chain Mervyn's has announced it will close 26 stores as part of a cost cutting move following their Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.11 of those stores are in California, six are in Texas, four in Nevada, four in Arizona, and one in Idaho. The Hayward-based department store chain, which operates about 175 stores primarily in California, cited "under-performance" for closing the stores.
The closest stores closing their doors are Antioch, Livermore, Fairfield and Napa.
All the stores will close in October through November.
