SAN JOSE, CA-A Silicon Valley construction firm has won the construction contract for a $25 million, three-story, 53,000-sq.-ft. student health and counseling center at San Jose State University.
Blach Construction was awarded the contract, along with design partner Ratcliff Architects. Design development began in October 2012, with construction scheduled for July 2013 through December 2014.
“This project allows Blach to begin what we hope will be a long and successful relationship with San Jose State University and the CSU system,” said Scott Bergstrom, Blach project executive. “Our years of experience building projects on active K-12 and higher education campuses will be key to delivering a great project.”
The new facility, which will house approximately 70 employees and 20 student assistants, is being built as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold equivalent project.
The new project is located at the intersection of Paseo de San Carlos and 7th Street.
