LAGUNA HILLS, CA—Ground has been broken on the renovation and expansion project at The Village at Nellie Gail Ranch. The $17 million project will bring the retail center to a total of 100,000 sq. ft. and bring in the area’s first Fresh Market.
“We are undertaking a comprehensive renovation of the center that will transform it into a modern and dynamic retail destination. With a warm yet contemporary look, top quality retailers and new dining options The Village at Nellie Gail Ranch will be a perfect fit reflecting the lifestyle and serving the needs of this community,” said Fred Sands, chairman of Vintage Real Estate, the property owner.
In 2012, Vintage purchased four acres next to the former Moulton La Paz Shopping Center in order to make way for the expansion. The specialty grocer, Fresh Market will total 21,000 sq. ft., offering fresh bakery items prepared daily and more than 200 imported and domestic cheeses. Beyond Fresh Market, the property will house a number of boutiques and casual dining restaurants.
“The Village at Nellie Gail Ranch is a welcome addition to this community and will enhance this pivotal intersection. It will offer an exciting new shopping and dining experience in addition to generating jobs and revenue for the city,” said Laguna Hills Mayor Barbara Kogerman, in a statement.
