Craig Trottier joined Indianapolis-based Lauth Property Group as vice president, director of development. Trottier, who has been responsible for developing more than 2.5 million square feet of shopping space in the western United States, was development director at Developers Diversified Realty Corp.
Lennar Partners and Hopkins Real Estate Group are transforming the 66-acre, enclosed Whittwood Mall in Whittier, Calif., into a 792,570-square-foot open air center to be called Whittwood Town Center. Target, Mervyn's, JCPenney and Sears will anchor the mixed-use project, which will include restaurants, 180 town homes and outdoor plazas. Perkowitz + Ruth Architects is designing the project.
The Macerich Co. is renovating and expanding Greeley, Colo.'s 504,414-square-foot Greeley Mall. A new main entrance, tile floors, children's play areas and a dining area will open by fall. A second phase, to be completed by summer 2004, will include a 12-screen theater built, owned and operated by Cinemark Theaters and Metropolitan Theaters. An additional 65,000 square feet of shop space will replace the mall's demolished Montgomery Wards. The anchors are two Dillard's, JCPenney and Sears.
Brian Kjos heads The Staubach Co.'s new restaurant and entertainment tenant brokerage group. As executive vice president and national director, the 22-year veteran of Staubach will he;[ tenants such as AMC Theaters, Dave & Buster's, Disney and Smith & Wollensky secure real estate.
