Kampschroer: GSA’s Green Building’s Efforts Could Set Tone for Private Sector

Kevin Kampschroer, director, Office of Federal High-Performance Green Buildings with the Government Services Administration, describes his office’s efforts to move the entire federal government inventory towards sustainability. Buildings consume 40 percent of the energy in the United States and 70 percent of the electricity. Kampschroer argues that becoming more efficient will be a boost for the economy and reduce the country’s dependence on foreign oil.
