On May 21st, it was announced that Blackstone Real Estate Partners VIII would acquire all outstanding common shares of LaSalle Hotel Properties for a reported $4.8 billion. The purchase price for the hotel REIT reportedly reflects a premium of about 13 percent to LaSalle’s NAV.
