Retail/mixed-use infrastructure is expanding as rapidly as the population, increasing the need for shopping, restaurant and entertainment in the valley's many new and varied neighborhoods as well as revitalization of its urban core.

Led by David Moore, AIA, the firm's retail studio includes top talent currently designing lifestyle, home fashion, power/mixed-use and regional centers.
The Shops at Chauncey Ranch, located in Scottsdale, Ariz., and At Home in Goodyear, Ariz., are two outstanding examples. The 170,000-square-foot Chauncey Ranch will boast a Whole Foods Market, restaurants and high-end specialty shops. At Home is a 450,000-square-foot home fashion center that fulfills the retail needs of an explosive residential market in the west Phoenix valley. DFD currently has several other home fashion centers under way nationally including Vacaville in Northern California and Crown Point in suburban Denver.
Also on the retail design boards at DFD are: Estrella Falls in Goodyear, Ariz., a regional center for Westcor; various downtown Phoenix retail revitalization projects, such as a master plan study for revitalization of a downtown warehouse district to an entertainment/residential district; Hayden Ferry Lakeside, an office/retail mixed-use development in Tempe, Ariz. and Espanada, a high-rise residential/retail development in Chula Vista, Calif.
