Dougherty Schroeder & Associates has continued its expansion into new markets over the past year. Setting the standard in innovative lifestyle design, we are following our clients as they add other uses to this proven formula. An example is the planned expansion to the highly successful Destin Commons for Turnberry & Associates, which will include additional office space and an upper level 120-room hotel. In Cherry Hill, N.J., and Raleigh, N.C., Dougherty Schroeder is designing housing structures over retail for Edgewood Properties' Town Place at Garden State Park and Regency Partners' Cameron Village, respectively. On the West Coast, we have successfully obtained necessary entitlements for the six-block redevelopment of downtown Sunnyvale, Calif., which will include more than 1 million square feet of retail with housing and office above.
Among our projects currently in construction are Poag & McEwen's Promenade Shops at Centerra in Loveland, Colo., and General Growth Properties' Pinnacle Hills Promenade in Rogers, Ark. While the former has a vibrant Main Street design with a Colorado Rocky Mountain theme, the latter sports a cutting edge international look. The centrally located “Pinnacle Tower” will feature an hourly light show visible from the adjacent interstate. In sunny Florida, Dougherty Schroeder has broken ground on the immense Gulf Coast Town Center for CBL & Associates Properties and Richard E. Jacobs, a 1.7 million-square-foot mega center with an Italian Rococo look reminiscent of the Ft. Myers/Naples, Fla., area. Of similar size and configuration is a new lifestyle center for RED Development in Papillion, Neb. The design has a Nebraska Main Street feel with references to historic buildings in the area.
Not to be outdone, mall developers are adding Lifestyle expansions to their projects. In this vein, Dougherty Schroeder is designing lifestyle expansions to Rosedale Center in Roseville, Minn., for Jones Lang LaSalle and Lehigh Valley Mall in Allentown, Pa., for Simon Property Group. Also planned are expansions for several General Growth Properties projects including Carolina Place in Charlotte, N.C., and Augusta Mall in Augusta, Ga.
All in all, it has been a banner year for Dougherty Schroeder as we follow our trailblazing clients into a wide variety of project types, configurations and geographical locations.
