If you like lids, then head to East Fourth Street in Greenwich Village. That's where New Era: New York, the first flagship of baseball-cap maker New Era, opens in May. New Era is the official manufacturer and marketer of Major League Baseball's official uniform caps; same goes for the NBA, NHL, College bowl games and National Championships and Little League. The 86-year-old, Derby, N.Y.-based company produces more than 25 million caps each year.
Although the store can't fit them all, New Era: New York will display a full range of styles and market segments, which include fashion, women's, kid's and sports categories, and branded gear for DC Shoes, Stussy and Billabong. The 2,000-square-foot boutique was designed by Jager Di Paola Kemp Design.
