Crown American Realty Trust Thom McKee has been appointed senior vice president of development for Johnstown, Pa.-based Crown American Realty Trust. He will be responsible for the development of new and existing strip centers, as well as freestanding and built-to-suit projects. Most recently, McKee served as president of Lutherville, Md.-based Hicks & Rotner Retail Inc.
FAC Realty Trust Inc. Sona A. Thorburn has been named vice president and chief accounting officer for Cary, N.C.-based FAC Realty Trust Inc. She will oversee accounting and SEC reporting. Most recently, Thorburn served as division manager for Tech Resource Group Inc. in Raleigh, N.C.
Terranomics Retail Services Richard C. Scott has been named president and chief executive officer for San Francisco-based Terranomics Retail Services. He will oversee all corporate operations. Most recently, Scott served as chief executive officer for Ares, a wholly owned subsidiary of New York-based Mutual of New York.
The Retail Group Jim Copitzky has joined The Retail Group, Seattle, as executive vice president and chief operating officer. He will be responsible for formulating future corporate strategy, as well as overseeing all company operations. Most recently, Copitzky served as president and chief executive officer of Columbus, Ohio-based Sun Television & Appliances.
The Macerich Co. The Macerich Co., Santa Monica, Calif., has promoted three employees to senior vice president. Charles Waldron has been promoted to senior vice president of management, and will oversee corporate property management. Scott Burchard has been named senior vice president of business initiatives, and will be responsible for launching and operating the company's new business programs. Both Waldron and Burchard previously served as senior vice presidents and co-directors of mall operations. Lastly, Tom Unis has been promoted from vice president and national leasing manager to senior vice president of lease management. He will be responsible for coordinating and approving the negotiation and production of corporate lease documentation.
Barnes & Noble Inc. Frank O'Neill has been named president of B. Dalton Bookseller, a division of New York-based Barnes & Noble Inc. He will be responsible for the company's shopping center division, and will oversee store operations, real estate and merchandising. Previously, O'Neill served as senior vice president of real estate for Harrison, N.J.-based Lechters.
Daiwa Securities America Inc. Wayne K. Potters has joined Daiwa Securities America Inc., New York, as a vice president in its real estate department. He will supervise a portion of the group's commercial loan underwriting and will assist in the company's commercial mortgage-based securitization affairs. Most recently, Potters served as senior director in the commercial mortgage department for Fitch Investors Service L.P., New York.
R.M. Shoemaker Co. Ed Elicker has been named vice president of business development for the West Conshohocken, Pa.-based construction management and general contracting firm of R.M. Shoemaker Co. He will concentrate on creating and cementing relationships within the development community. Previously, Elicker served as vice president of construction for BRCM Corp., a division of Berwind Corp., Philadelphia.
