General Growth Properties Inc. John Bucksbaum has been appointed CEO of Chicago, Ill.-based General Growth Properties Inc., effective July 1, 1999. Bucksbaum will succeed his father, Matthew Bucksbaum, who will retain his position as chairman of the board. Previously, John Bucksbaum served as executive vice president of General Growth Properties and prior to that was president of General Growth of California. He also serves on the company's board of directors and is co-chairman of General Growth Management Co.
Rockwood Realty Associates, LLC Neil R.M. Duncan has joined New York-based Rockwood Realty Associates as a vice president. He will focus on real estate banking activities including advisory assignments, asset disposition/acquisitions, and debt and equity financing. Prior to joining Rockwood, Duncan was a vice president with J.P. Morgan where he handled many multi-million dollar assignments.
Finard & Co. Robert K. Lemons has joined Burlington, Mass.-based Finard & Co. as managing director of property and asset management services. He will be responsible for overseeing the firm's efforts to serve clients in asset and property management. Previously, Lemons served as a principal and senior vice president at Spaulding & Slye. He is a past president of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA).
Developers Diversified Realty Eric Mallory has been appointed vice president and director of development for Developers Diversified Realty (DDR), a Cleveland-based REIT. He will be responsible for overseeing the identification, ground-up planning, development and leasing of the company's community shopping center projects. Prior to joining DDR, Mallory served as executive vice president for Philadelphia-based PREIT-Rubin. In addition, Richard Russell has been appointed regional operations manager. He will be responsible for shopping center operations in the Columbus, Ohio market. Previously, Russell served as manager of construction, facilities and maintenance for Sun Television.
Koll Development Co. Paul F. Klink has been appointed vice president of retail operations for the western division of Newport Beach, Calif.-based Koll Development Co. Klink is responsible for directing the marketing and leasing efforts for Koll's retail development projects in the western United States. In addition, he will be identifying and acquiring vacant land parcels for development as well as targeting in-fill sites for redevelopment. Previously, Klink served as a consultant for Sino Development Co., Shanghai, China.
Trammell Crow Co. Both Bill Chalmers and Sighla Finazzo have been promoted to the position of vice president, retail properties division, in the South Florida office of Dallas-based Trammell Crow Co. Previously, the two served the firm as retail marketing directors. Chalmers currently oversees Mobile Oil Corp.'s South Florida real estate activities, including site disposition and expansion. Finazzo recently earned the Certified Leasing Specialist (CLS) designation from the ICSC.
Cohen & Co. Real Estate Inc. Hank Dutch has been named managing director of the New York commercial investment sales brokerage division of New York-based Cohen & Co. Real Estate Inc. He will assist in the company's expansion in the investment sales market. Dutch has more than 18 years experience in residential and commercial real estate.
Konover & Associates Inc. R. Michael Goman has been promoted to president/COO of West Hartford, Conn.-based Konover & Associates Inc. Previously, Goman served the company as executive vice president and COO. He replaces Michael Konover who has assumed the position of chairman/CEO. In addition to his position at Konover & Associates, Goman also has been appointed president of Konover Development Corp.
PM Realty Group Investment Services Donald J. MacLellan and William C. Howatt have been named senior vice presidents/directors of investments for the western region of PM Realty Group Investment Services, the Chicago-based investment arm of Newport Beach, Calif.-based PM Realty Group. Formerly with CB Richard Ellis the investment team directed the acquisition and sale of more than $600 million in investment properties. Their responsibilities include the sourcing, marketing and closing of investment real estate in Southern California as well as the oversight of client relationships nationwide.
Divaris Real Estate Inc. Donald L. Orlando has been appointed principal in the Richmond, Va., office of Virginia Beach, Va.-based Divaris Real Estate Inc. (DRE). Orlando will manage all aspects of the Richmond office, which develops, manages, brokers and leases commercial real estate in Richmond and central and western Virginia. Previously, he served as vice president of real estate services for Hills Department Stores.
The Mills Corp. The Mills Corp., Arlington, Va. has announced a series of promotions among its executive staff. James Dausch - formerly executive vice president, development - has been promoted to senior executive vice president. He oversees and directs all domestic and international development activities. Dausch is also a member of the board of directors. Thomas Frost - formerly the company's general counsel - has been named executive vice president, legal. He is responsible for all of the firm's legal affairs. Thomas Hindert - formerly vice president predevelopment - has been named executive vice president, real estate. He is responsible for new product creation and new business opportunities. Steven Jacobsen - formerly senior vice president, development - has been promoted to executive vice president, development. He is responsible for the development of Opry Mills in Nashville, Tenn., among other projects. Mark Rivers - formerly senior vice president-national accounts - has been named executive vice president and chief strategic officer. Rivers will oversee the functions of corporate communications, market research, strategic merchandising, partnership marketing and new business activities. James Whitcome - a member of the senior management committee - has been promoted to executive vice president, capital services. His primary role is to oversee and direct all current and future design, construction, and tenant coordination activities. He will retain his position of associate director, development, in which he assists in management of the development group.
Retail Development Partners Lee Shafkowitz has joined Retail Development Partners, a New York-based international retail and property consulting group, as senior managing director. Shafkowitz will use experience garnered from 20 years of marketing and merchandising apparel products to expand the company's client base. He will provide services ranging from marketing, advertising, brand positioning and operations to long-term strategic planning. Previously, his career has included successful stints with apparel retailers such as Cerrutti 1881, MaxMara and Reporter Italian Menswear. In addition, Roger M. Roisman has joined the firm as general counsel and executive vice president. He will help clients with acquisition, financing and deal structuring. Roisman is a former partner with the law firms of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP and Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP.
