An all-star office/industrial cast is set to take Seattle by storm this October when the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) holds its annual conference and exposition there October 4-8. The conference is co-sponsored by NATIONAL REAL ESTATE INVESTOR magazine. Headquarters for the event is the Westin Seattle Hotel.
Several major panel discussions already promise to explore many of the industry's top financing issues. An Oct. 7 panel titled "Capital Markets Update" features speakers Tom McCahill of The MONY Group and Ray D'Ardenne of Lend Lease Real Estate Investments. An Oct. 8 panel titled "Private Capital/Public Companies" features moderator Bruce Fernald of Cornerstone Realty Advisors leading a panel which includes Joe Azrack of AEW, Ned Spieker of Spieker Properties and William Walton of Westbrook Partners LLC.
Also featuring prominently at NAIOP '99 will be the Marketplace exhibit area, Tech Park and Deal City, a well-done gathering of some of the country's top real estate investment trusts, owners/developers, investors/capital sources and brokers set in a private "suite" arrangement. Ten solid hours of deal-making have been set aside for the Deal City portion of the conference.
